This week, alongside Huawei’s launch of their flagship Mate 20 series, Huawei also announced the ultra luxurious Huawei Mate 20 RS. The Huawei Mate 20 RS was designed in partnership with Porsche. It’s actually the 4th handset that these two companies have produced together, and it’s certainly the swankiest phone that Huawei has created to date.

The Huawei Mate 20 RS’s is essentially a Huawei Mate 20 Pro that has been wrapped inside of a luxurious handcrafted leather material that is complimented by a race car inspired stripe that runs down its center. The leather itself is made from sustainably-sourced U.S. cowhide that takes 4 weeks to be processed and made. This is actually the first time that an RS handset has come with leather, and it really makes the phone feel like it was “inspired by speed.”

Aside from the leather, another key difference between the Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20 RS is that the triple lens camera system on the backside of the Huawei Mate 20 RS is flush integrated into the back of the phone with the leather.

All in all, the Mate 20 RS is one of the nicest luxury phones we’ve ever come across. Aside from the fact that the phone looks fantastic, the handcrafted leather makes the phone feel great to grip in your hand. In the box, you’ll also get a matching leather folio case with a window for the device’s display.

The Huawei Mate 20 RS comes with 8GB of RAM and is available in 256GB (1625 Euro) and 512GB (2095 Euro) storage options. There will also be a gorgeous red edition that is available in China only.

There are limited quantities of the Huawei Mate 20 RS available and Huawei’s Chief Design Officer, Joonsuh Kim, says that previous RS models have always sold out. Considering this model is Huawei and Porsche’s nicest one yet, we wouldn’t be surprised if it sells out as fast as the race car it has been inspired by.
