Despite being released just last December, Cyberpunk 2077 has already dropped its price quite significantly – by nearly 50%! The highly anticipated game received a less than welcoming reception from players after they discovered the game’s very disappointing performance on previous generation consoles like the PS4.
Now the game is sporting a $34.99 price tag on both Amazon and Best Buy, which is a sharp drop in price from its original price of $59.99.
The rather large price drop is unusual for a big title game, especially since it was just released a few months ago. But Cyberpunk 2077 suffered a backlash from fans after not disclosing it’s almost unplayable performance on last-gen consoles like the PS4 and XBOX One. CD Projekt Red went as far as issuing refunds for console users unhappy with their purchase.
Despite having been in development for quite a number of years, developer CD Projekt Red ended up releasing the game earlier than expected due to public demand and mounting pressure caused by its multiple delays.
The company has promised though that a series of updates and patches released over the next couple of months will provide users a closer experience to what it advertised before release. Updates have already begun rolling out and more are expected to come at a pretty fast pace. This includes next-gen upgrades for the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S.
