The much-awaited Animal Crossing: New Horizons Build-A-Bear collection launched earlier today. But because of the immense popularity of the Nintendo Switch life simulation game, the collection sold out pretty quickly.
The stuffed toy line is currently comprised of Tom Nook and Isabelle dressed in their best summer clothes. For those who are not familiar with the game, Tom Nook is the head of the development company Nook Incorporated. The raccoon character also serves as the leader on the island and acts as task giver and island upgrader. Isabelle, meanwhile, is a dog character who assists players in their new role as the town mayor.
Priced at $51 each, the Tom Nook and Isabelle stuffed toys both come in two versions: one that plays the Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme song and one that delivers five phrases and sounds from the game.
It’s not clear when both plushies will be available again on the Build-A-Bear website, but the official Twitter account of the toy company tweeted that they “will have the collection back in stock soon.”
Fans who want to find out when new stock becomes available can sign-up for updates here. Those who can’t wait, on the other hand, can buy the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Build-A-Bears on eBay at a much higher price.
There’s no word yet on whether the collection will add other characters from the game. But given how quickly the Tom Nook and Isabelle stuffed toys sold out, it’s likely that fans will also see Build-A-Bear versions of their other favorite Animal Crossing: New Horizons characters in the near future.
