‘Rotten’ Zombie Skittles are finally available at Walmart

These rotten-flavored candies can make you lose your appetite for Halloween treats completely

After almost a year of waiting, Zombie Skittles are finally here.

First announced back in October 2018, the rainbow-colored treats are now in stock at Walmart and on Walmart.com. The candies are expected to arrive in other retail stores nationwide this October, just in time for Halloween.

Each pack of Zombie Skittles contains five Halloween-themed fruity flavors: Petrifying Citrus Punch, Mummified Melon, Boogeyman Blackberry, Chilling Black Cherry, and Blood Red Berry. However, each pack also contains pieces of rotten zombie-flavored Skittles that can make candy lovers lose their appetite for Halloween treats completely.

“Hidden beneath the candy shell of select pieces in the pack is a rotten zombie flavor that will reveal itself only once you’ve started to chew,” the brand explained. “It’s an utterly disgusting taste experience that will elicit strong reactions from anyone and everyone daring enough to try it.”

While it’s unclear what the rotten zombie flavor exactly tastes like, a rep for Skittles told Food & Wine that every palate will perceive the flavor differently, but everyone will know that it’s a rotten zombie Skittle when they get it.

“Our fans love Skittles not just for its delicious fruity flavors, but for the irreverence and sense of humor for which the brand is known,” Rebecca Duke, Skittles’ senior brand manager at Mars Wrigley U.S., said in a statement. “This Halloween, we wanted to give our fans the ultimate rotten twist on the candy they know and love, challenging them to test their bravery over a bag of Zombie Skittles.”

Zombie Skittles are available in share size pack for $1.89, lay down bag for $2.49, and fun size bag for $2.99.
