Super Nintendo World Hollywood opening date

Super Nintendo World Hollywood doesn’t have an exact opening date yet. But on Thursday, Universal Studios Hollywood announced in a tweet that its version of Super Nintendo World will start to welcome guests in “early 2023.” Prior to this announcement, the theme park would only say that the new Nintendo-themed area would open sometime in 2023.

In a follow-up tweet, Universal Studios Hollywood confirmed that its version of Super Nintendo World will open with an interactive Mario Kart ride, which will let players pass through iconic courses, throw shells, and collect coins to beat Team Bowser.

In addition to the Mario Kart ride, Super Nintendo World Hollywood will also feature several interactive areas themed around Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and other classic Nintendo characters. There will also be dining and shopping options for guests to enjoy. More details about Super Nintendo Word Hollywood are expected to be announced in the coming months as Universal Studios Hollywood completes the construction on the new Nintendo-themed area.

Super Nintendo World Orlando

There are actually two upcoming versions of Super Nintendo World in the U.S. The first one is the abovementioned Super Nintendo World Hollywood and the second one is Super Nintendo World Orlando. The latter is under construction for Epic Universe, a soon-to-rise park inside the Universal Studios Orlando. Super Nintendo World Orlando was originally scheduled to open in 2023, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the opening of the entire Epic Universe to 2025.

Super Nintendo World Japan

Super Nintendo World Japan is the first Super Nintendo World location to open. Located inside the Universal Studios Japan, the Japanese version of the themed area began to welcome guests in March 2021 amid the pandemic.

Super Nintendo World Japan currently has two rides: a Mario Kart-themed dark ride with augmented reality elements and an omnimover ride themed around Yoshi. Last September, a Donkey Kong land expansion was announced to open in 2024, which will feature a roller coaster, interactive experiences, as well as themed merchandise and food.

By 2025, Super Nintendo World Japan won’t be the only Super Nintendo World location in Asia, as a version of the themed park is expected to open in Universal Studios Singapore that year.
