The Uniqlo U Recycled Down Jacket is now available to purchase in all Uniqlo stores across the country.
First announced in September as part of Uniqlo’s new recycling program called Re.Uniqlo, the Uniqlo U Recycled Down Jacket is the company’s first-ever jacket made of 100% recycled down. It is made from old and unwanted apparel from Uniqlo’s customers as well as feather garments that were returned to Uniqlo stores. Using unique technology, these old clothing items are turned into jackets that look completely brand-new.
Versatile in terms of its design and function, the Uniqlo U Recycled Down Jacket can be worn either on its own as a sophisticated unisex outdoor jacket, or layered underneath or on top of garments for additional warmth. The jacket’s soft V-neckline enhances its flexibility without subscribing to a specific gendered point of view, while its onion-shaped stitching helps increase warmth whilst reducing stiffness.
While Uniqlo is confident that that the Uniqlo U Recycled Down Jacket will last long, the company encouraged customers to bring these jackets back to a Uniqlo store if they’re longer being used, as they can be re-worked once again into a new clothing item. As part of the Re.Uniqlo program, customers who bring unwanted down products to Uniqlo stores to be donated or recycled will receive a coupon that can be used online or in-store.
Selling for $89.90 each, the Uniqlo U Recycled Down Jacket is available in four colors: dark gray, dark orange, dark green, and brown, making it a great gift for yourself or your friends and family this holiday season.
