After a successful debut run in Beverly Hills earlier this year, The Golden Girls Kitchen is now set to open in New York City.
What is The Golden Girls Kitchen?
Inspired by the classic NBC sitcom The Golden Girls, The Golden Girls Kitchen is a pop-up experience that takes fans into the show’s universe, all while tasting some delicious foods.
Conceptualized by Derek Barry and organized by events platform Bucket Listers, The Golden Girls Kitchen is a custom, detailed dining experience based on the favorite iconic Miami hangouts of the show’s main characters Dorothy Zbornak (Bea Arthur), Rose Nylund (Betty White), Blanche Devereaux (Rue McClanahan), and Sophia Petrillo (Estelle Getty).
The 1980s-themed fast-casual restaurant offers delicious mains, sides, and desserts. The mains include Sophia’s Lasagna Al Forno, The Rose Marie Soup and Salad, Rusty Anchor Omelet Sandwich, and Avocado Toast, among many others.
For the sides, guests can choose from Nancy’s Side Salad, Edgar Allan Poe-tatoe French Fries, Side of Sicily Garlic Bread, and Cheeseballs.
Diners with a sweet tooth are in for a treat, as the dessert menu will include a wide variety of cheesecakes, including chocolate, strawberry, pumpkin, and even Oreo. Other sweets on the menu are Sperheoven Krispies, Genurkenflurgen Cake, Clown Sundae, and Blanche’s Georgia Style Cookies.
Guests can also sidle up to the Rusty Anchor Bar and select from an assortment of specialty cocktails and mocktails centered around the beloved series.
After satisfying their cravings and filling up their bellies, visitors can tour the pop-up grounds to make the most out of the event. “Snap a photo in Blanche’s Boudoir, complete with shag carpet and a palm print bedspread, or pretend to chat with the ladies through the girls’ yellow kitchen phone,” reads a portion of the description of the experience, which also promises “a rotating assortment of special events, panels, and additional merch drops throughout the duration of the pop-up’s run.”
When will The Golden Girls Kitchen open in NYC?
The Golden Girls Kitchen will open on Wednesday, November 16th at Skorpios in Midtown Manhattan (5 E 54th St.) Each ticket will give guest access to a reserved seat, a 90-minute time window to dine at the restaurant, as well as a choice of entrée and cheesecake. There will be additional sides, desserts, beverages, and exclusive The Golden Girls Kitchen merchandise to add on arrival.
Tickets are now available on BucketListers.com starting at $40 per person.
Is The Golden Girls Kitchen coming to other locations?
Bucket Listers said they are planning to additional locations in the Miami, San Francisco, and Chicago areas this coming spring.
“Bucket Listers is honored to bring The Golden Girls Kitchen to Manhattan after a sold-out run in LA,” says Bucket Listers CEO and Founder Andy Lederman. “The opportunity to give its die-hard fans a deeper appreciation for the show’s lasting legacy has been a dream come true. This is just the beginning. We plan to bring many more of our original and partner experiences (working alongside the best event producers) to life across the country very soon.”
