TCL just revealed three new devices that join the TCL 20-series lineup, while at the same time also sharing updates regarding the development of its first rollable phone, the TCL Fold ‘n Roll. We first saw this concept in early 2020 when TCL previewed different concept phones with flexible displays.
The TCL Fold ‘n Roll is currently still in the prototype stage which means it doesn’t have actual internal specifications just yet. As for the body, the Fold ‘n Roll will be capable of three form factors. For typical smartphone usage, the device offers a 6.87-inch screen. For more space, this can be folded out to make an 8.85-inch phablet, and finally, it can be rolled out and be used as a full 10-inch tablet. TCL will be using its proprietary Dragonhinge and rollable/extendable display mechanisms which were already previewed last year.
There’s currently no known date as to when the company will be releasing the Fold ‘n Roll. TCL says, though, that they still plan on releasing their first device with a flexible display sometime this year. It may just not be in the exact form factor as the Fold ‘n Roll.
