Stargate SG-1 stars Michael Shanks and Amanda Tapping and Stargate Atlantis cast members Rodney McKay and Jennifer Keller reunite for a special project called Stargate A.I.

Produced by Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis co-creator Brad Wright and premium sci-fi magazine and podcast platform The Companion, Stargate A.I. is a cast reunion and innovative table read, in which every line of dialogue and every single stage direction the cast perform is written by cutting edge artificial intelligence, created by Google’s AI Lead, Laurence Moroney.

Though this is not the first time artificial intelligence has written a script for a project, Moroney has taken a new approach for Stargate A.I. by creating a cluster of multiple models, with each model dedicated to accurately reflecting one character only.

As detailed in the press release for Stargate A.I., each model has millions of inputs on the character’s dialogue and actions, which affects how the models speak, react, and interact with one another, resulting in both authentic and quirky scenarios.

For the Stargate A.I. table read, Shanks and Tapping reprise their Stargate SG-1 roles of Daniel Jackson and Samantha Carter, respectively, while Hewlett and Staite play their Stargate Atlantis characters Rodney McKay and Jennifer Keller once again.

Scheduled on November 6th at 5 p.m. ET, the virtual premiere and Q&A of Stargate A.I. is co-hosted by Wright and Star Trek fan Marc Evan Jackson, with Moroney adding technical commentary alongside the cast read through. Stargate A.I. is hosted by The Companion, so fans should sign up for the platform in order to join the event. Click here to become a member.
