First revealed in December 2019, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser was originally supposed to launch at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida early this year. But after the COVID-19 pandemic shut things down nearly all of last year, the opening of the brand-new experience was delayed. However, with things starting to look up, Disney announced on Tuesday, as part of its Star Wars Day celebration, that the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is finally welcoming guests in 2022.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is an all-immersive, two-night vacation experience that takes guests to a galaxy far, far away, where they are surrounded by Star Wars storytelling 24/7. The journey will be different for each guest, as the decisions and actions that a passenger will make throughout the adventure will lead to various outcomes.

The adventure will start at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Terminal, where guests will gather before making a hyperspace jump in a Launch Pod, which features viewports that make passengers feel as though they’re traveling through space. After a brief space travel, the Launch Pod will dock with the massive and magnificent Halcyon Starcruiser, which will be the guests’ home for the next two nights.

In the heart of the Halcyon Starcruiser, The Atrium, guests can interact with their fellow passengers and crew members, including the space vessel’s strong and charismatic captain and a plucky ship’s mechanic. Meanwhile, in The Bridge, guests are free to operate the ship’s navigation and defense systems under the crew’s guidance.

A singing sensation will also be a featured performer during one of the guests’ exquisite dining experiences inside the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. An homage to the planet known for its shipyards, the said dining room is a bright and welcoming hall that offers breakfast and lunch to passengers before transforming each evening into a lavish multi-course menu of both otherworldly and familiar origins. The Halcyon Starcruiser also houses The Sublight Lounge, a warm and inviting retreat for passengers of all ages who want to sip a drink.

While there are a lot of fun activities to do inside the Halcyon Starcruiser, one of the days of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience will be spent on Batuu, as the starcruiser sends guests down to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for an excursion.

In Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, guests will embark on an exciting trip to Batuu’s Black Spire Outpost, take the controls on a thrilling interactive mission in the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction, and join a climactic battle against the First Order in the immersive Star: Wars Rise of the Resistance experience.

Disney said that it will share more details about Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in the future as its 2022 debut nears.
