Roku has announced new additions to its lineup of smart roku smart home devices. The new lineup includes the Roku Home Monitoring System SE, an improved Roku Smart Light Strip+ SE with more color options, and a Roku Solar Panel for the wireless Roku Outdoor Camera SE.
The company says its goal in expanding the smart home lineup is to provide its users with more devices to make them feel safer at home, including a new affordable “Professional Monitoring” subscription for users who want to take their home security to the next level. More on that in a bit.
Roku Home Monitoring System SE
The Roku Home Monitoring System SE is the highlight of the new product additions. According to Roku, the system comprises of two entry sensors, one motion sensor, a wireless keypad, and a hub with a built-in siren.
With this combination of devices, users will be able to expand the capabilities of their Roku security cameras, doorbells, and other home devices, enabling them to get notifications when doors and windows are open or closed, enjoy smart motion monitoring, generate notifications using the siren whenever emergencies are detected, and control the entire system from anywhere using the wireless keypad or mobile app.
The Roku Home Monitoring System SE has been designed for easy installation. To that effect, users can take advantage of video tutorials and illustrations to set up the system without needing any special tools.
In addition, Roku Home Monitoring System SE users in the USA who want extra security can subscribe to Roku’s new Smart Home Professional Monitoring service, which the company is offering in partnership with Noonlight, an expert in the space.
With the subscription, which is available for $9.99/month or $99.99/year, Roku promises users immediate response from security agents whenever an alarm is triggered or when the user requests emergency assistance through the Roku Smart Home mobile app.
Roku Smart Home Ecosystem integration
Roku is also offering users of its existing smart home devices and Roku TV OS further benefits when they purchase the Roku Home Monitoring System SE. Roku says they will get notifications on their TV from their Roku Home Monitoring System, be able to view live and recorded footage on their Roku player or TV, and control the Roku Home Monitoring System with voice commands using the Roku remote or mobile app.
