Finding NBA content on Roku has just gotten much easier.
On April 3, 2024, in partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA), Roku has officially launched the first-ever NBA Fast Channel and the NBA Zone on its streaming platform, allowing its users to find NBA content quicker and hassle-free.
What is Roku’s NBA Fast Channel?
Roku’s NBA Fast Channel is a free, ad-supported streaming TV channel dedicated to all things NBA. It is a part of a broader partnership between Roku and the NBA. Here’s what you can find on Roku’s NBA Fast Channel:
- Re-airs of classic NBA games: Relive historic matchups and iconic moments from the NBA’s rich history.
- Highlights and recaps: Stay up-to-date on the latest happenings in the NBA with highlight packages and game recaps.
- Documentaries and original series: Deepen your knowledge of the NBA with documentaries and original shows produced by the league.
- Studio shows and interviews: Get insights and analysis from experts and hear directly from players and coaches through interviews.
Though the NBA Fast Channel won’t offer live broadcasts of current NBA games, it serves as a great way for basketball fans to enjoy a variety of NBA content for free.
The Roku Channel is the inaugural partner of the first-ever NBA FAST channel, which is available exclusively through The Roku Channel for a limited time.
“Roku offers the kind of sports streaming experience that no other platform has—everything is tailored to the fan, whether they’re a die-hard fanatic or just getting into the local team,” said Joe Franzetta, Head of Sports at Roku, in a press release. “This strategic league partnership brings us a giant step further in our mission to make sports programming both easy to find and engaging to watch. We’re giving our users floor seats to an always-on experience, and we’re proud to be doing it in close collaboration with the NBA.”
Greg Beaton, NBA Senior Vice President of Content Partnerships, added: “We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Roku with the NBA’s first FAST Channel and other NBA content and functionality that will serve as an enticement and on-ramp to live NBA games. This partnership supports our goal of reaching NBA fans with our content in innovative ways.”
How to access Roku’s NBA Fast Channel?
Fans can access the NBA Fast Channel on The Roku Channel, within related zones (Live TV Zone, Sports Zone, NBA Zone), through the Live TV Channel Guide or via The Roku Channel App.

What is Roku’s NBA Zone?
The NBA Zone is a one-stop shop for all things NBA within the Roku platform. It acts as a central hub that curates and integrates various NBA content sources, providing a seamless experience for basketball fans. Here’s what the NBA Zone offers:
- Access to the NBA Fast Channel: This is the core element, offering free, on-demand NBA content like classic games, highlights, documentaries, and more.
- Consolidated view of NBA content: The zone aggregates content from other sources beyond the NBA Fast Channel. This includes subscriptions like NBA League Pass (for live games) and the NBA App (for news and highlights).
- Personalized news and updates: The NBA Zone tailors the content based on your favorite teams, ensuring you see the latest news and highlights relevant to your preferences.
In essence, the NBA Zone acts as a central command center for NBA fans on Roku, bringing together free and paid content, personalized updates, and easy access points for a comprehensive NBA experience.

The NBA Zone is located within the Sports section in Roku’s Home Screen Menu, and users can also search similar terms with Roku Search or Roku Voice.
