Roku has introduced two new “All Things” features aimed at simplifying content discovery, effectively facilitating an easier search for preferred content among Roku users.

The decision to create the All Things Food and All Things Home features was driven by insights from a survey, indicating that 64% of streamers use genre-related search terms to discover new content, with 73% expressing concern about the time spent searching for such content.

“All Things Food” and “All Things Home” emerge as new hubs on the Roku Home Screen, consolidating content across the platform within the food and home/garden genres. Roku anticipates that these additions will enhance the discovery experience for Roku users passionate about food and home-related content.

According to Roku, All Things Food will showcase the best culinary content on the platform, offering users a diverse content menu with sub-categories like “DIY meals,” “Healthy Habits,” and more. Simultaneously, All Things Home will curate home and garden content on Roku, presenting users with a menu featuring categories such as “Home & Garden Hits,” “Home Improvement,” “Call in the Home Experts,” and others.

Beyond simplifying the discovery of genre-specific content, Roku asserts that these features will provide personalized recommendations, encompassing both free and subscription streaming options, live and linear TV, Premium Subscriptions, and Roku Originals.”

Roku has not specified a particular release date for the “All Things” features, but we anticipate their availability to users in the U.S. in the upcoming weeks.

Upon launch, users can access the All Things Food and All Things Home destinations in the new “Browse” row on the Home Screen or via Roku Search. Additionally, Roku revealed that these destinations will be reachable through other touchpoints, including banner ads on the Home Screen, Spotlight Ads, and during searches for related content.
