Razor is expanding its line of adult electric scooters with three new models that all cost under $500.
Designed by a team that includes several former BMX and skating competitors, Razor EcoSmart SUP, E300 HD, and C25 scooters are accessible for riders of any skill level ― whether they are trying to make it to work on time, going for a quick trip to the grocery store, or just taking a spin around the park.
Unlike most electric scooters in the market, these three new scooter offerings from Razor come with rear-wheel drive. Rear-wheel drive shifts the weight to the rear of the scooter, enhancing both drive traction and ease of steering. This feature helps prevent tip overs and enables riders to position themselves more naturally on the scooter so that they can navigate uneven roads and turns more effectively.
Details of the new scooter models, which will be available over the next couple of months, are as follows:
Featuring 16-inch pneumatic front and rear tube tires and a wide bamboo deck for better stability, the EcoSmart SUP (Stand-Up) is the perfect intro scooter for adults who have never ridden an electric scooter before. Though it offers a smooth and comfortable ride, the scooter is actually fast. Equipped with a 350W motor, it can travel with a top speed of 15.5 miles per hour. Boasting a 12 miles per battery charge, the EcoSmart SUP is great for a spin around town or jaunt to the beach. Priced at $449, the scooter will be available for purchase in black and white colors later this month.
An excellent option for the daily commute, the C25 is a highly durable foldable scooter that can go up to 11.25 miles per battery charge and up to 15.5 miles per hour. Weighing 30lbs, the C25 features a 12-inch solid front wheel for stability, front and rear lighting for nighttime travel, an electric dashboard, a large 250W rear brushless hub motor, and a 36V lithium-ion battery. The C25 will be available in two variants ― the C25 G2 and the C25 G3 ― starting this October for $399. A lead-acid battery version of the scooter will come out next year.
Hitting the market this fall for only $289, the E300 HD is Razor’s most economical adult electric scooter updated to a hub drive motor. It features a 250W high-torque brushless rear wheel hub motor, twist-grip acceleration, a hand-operated, rear drum break, and a 9-inch pneumatic front-wheel and 8-inch solid back wheel. With a top of speed 15 miles per hour, the E300 HD ― which is the latest addition to Razor’s E300 series ― is perfect for recreational electric scooter users who like to go for a quick spin around the neighborhood or for fun in the park.
These three new models join the recently released E Prime III and the currently available EcoSmart Metro as the cornerstones of Razor’s line of adult electric scooters.
E Prime III
At 24.2lbs, the E Prime III is the lightest in Razor’s E Prime folding electric scooter series. Built with ease and portability in mind, the E Prime III can be carried easily on the go or stored at home, in your car, your dorm, or office. With a 250-watt brushless hub-drive motor, LED headlight and brake-activated taillight, and a dual braking system, this $399 scooter ― which travels 18 miles per hour ― will get you to your destination and back again safely.
The EcoSmart Metro is the sit-down version of Razor’s EcoSmart scooters. Retailing for $469, the EcoSmart Metro combines comfortability, style, and functionality with its ultra-padded seat, rear disc braking system, adjustable handlebar rake and seat, detachable luggage rack/rear fender, bamboo deck, and stylish powder coated frame. Added features include 16-inch pneumatic tube tires, variable speed hand throttle control, 500W extra high torque motor, and 36V rechargeable battery system. The EcoSmart Metro travels up to 18 miles per hour and has a running time of up to 40 minutes.
