The highly anticipated collaboration between Pokémon and Oreo has officially been announced.
First teased last June, the exciting collab includes a limited-edition Pokémon x Oreo cookie pack, which has been revealed on social media earlier today with a creative video crafted completely out of Oreo cookies.
The Pokémon x OREO cookies pay tribute to some of the most beloved Pokémon with 16 unique cookie embossments featuring Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Piplup, Sableye, Sandshrew, Cyndaquil, Dratini, Pancham, Snivy, Lapras, Grookey, Jigglypuff, Rowlet, and Mew.
Since this is Oreo’s first-ever cookie rarity scheme, each Pokémon x OREO cookie pack is filled at random and does not necessarily contain cookies with all 16 embossment designs, meaning every cookie pack is all about discovery and a new chance to find them all.
The rarity of the designs embossed on the cookies ranges from easy-to-find to hard-to-find. The hardest to find is Mew, who is featured on an extremely limited number of the total cookies produced.
Pokémon x OREO cookie packs are available for preorder on OREO.com starting today and are set to hit retailers across the U.S. beginning September 13th.
As part of their collab, Pokémon and Oreo also commissioned an art installation featuring a pixelated Pikachu made entirely out of 3D replicas of the Pokémon x OREO cookies. Measuring 8 feet high and 22 feet wide, the artwork installation features over 8,000 3D cookie replicas and can be found on Venice Beach Boardwalk in Los Angeles from September 7th to October 3rd.
