Orphan Black: Echoes gets greenlight at AMC

Orphan Black: Echoes is officially coming to AMC Networks.

What is Orphan Black: Echoes?

First announced to be in development at AMC in March 2019, Orphan Black: Echoes is a new series set in the same fictional world of Orphan Black, the BBC America cult favorite starring Tatiana Maslany, which ran from 2013 to 2017.

Per AMC’s description, Orphan Black: Echoes is set in the near future and will take “a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence.” It will follow the lives of a new group of women who gradually begin to realize how deeply interconnected their origins are — despite the fact that none of them know one another. As they work their way into each other’s lives, they unravel the mystery of their identity and uncover a wrenching story of love and betrayal.

Orphan Black: Echoes hails from Boat Rocker Studios, whose Temple Street Productions produced the original series. Anna Fishko, whose credits include AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead and Netflix’s The Society, will write and showrun the new series. Also on board is Orphan Black co-creator John Fawcett, who will serve as executive producer and director.

Who will star in Orphan Black: Echoes?

No casting announcement has been made yet, but since it is set in the world of the original, it won’t be a surprise if some familiar faces will show up in the new series.

When will Orphan Black: Echoes come out?

Orphan Black: Echoes doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but it is set to come out sometime in 2023.

Where can you watch Orphan Black: Echoes?

Orphan Black: Echoes will be available to stream on AMC+ and will also air on the company’s linear networks.
