The original Orphan Black aired on AMC from 2013 to 2017. Though the series has yet to get a live-action sequel that will continue the story of its characters, the show has actually had an official follow-up in the form of the audio series, Orphan Black: The Next Chapter. What is Orphan Black Echoes about?

Per AMC’s description, Orphan Black Echoes is set in the not-too-distant future and takes “a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence.” It follows the lives of a new group of women who gradually begin to realize how deeply interconnected their origins are — despite the fact that none of them know one another. As they work their way into each other’s lives, they unravel the mystery of their identity and uncover a wrenching story of love and betrayal.

Orphan Black Echoes hails from Boat Rocker Studios, whose Temple Street Productions produced the original series. Anna Fishko, whose credits include AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead and Netflix’s The Society, will write and showrun the new series. Also on board is Orphan Black co-creator John Fawcett, who will serve as executive producer and director.
