Nubia has announced its latest gaming flagship phone, the Redmagic 6S Pro, and it’s surprisingly affordable. Boasting the full gamer aesthetic complete with RGB lights and a transparent back cover, it’s also equipped to handle the needs of demanding gamers. It is set to be released later in the month with a very affordable $599 price tag.
Powering the device is the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS3.1 storage to offer speedy and snappy performance across a number of functions. It houses a Kryo 680 CPU along with an Adreno 660 GPU for detailed graphics and increased AI performance.
On the front, it houses a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a very high 165Hz refresh rate. Touch sampling is offered to 720Hz for precise and responsive touch input. The screen’s refresh rate is also adaptive and can be switched from 165Hz to 120Hz or to 90Hz.
Its aspect ratio is at 20:9 with the display offering a 2400×1800 resolution and 8-bit color with 100% DCI-P3 for true-to-life color.
Gamers will appreciate the mappable touchpad area on the phone’s back that allows more controls to mimic a console-gaming experience. Called the M key, it offers customization of one or two actions by sliding across the touchpad to activate.
There are also dual triggers with a low response time of 8.3ms. These have also been tested 2 million times and are customizable for any game.
For battery, the Redmagic 6S Pro offers a 5,050mAh battery with support for flagship-level 66W fast charging. The phone’s built-in Game Space offers a Charge Separation feature that allows the phone to take power directly from a power source without passing through the battery.
And for connectivity, the phone offers fast 5G up to 3Gbps uploads and up to 7.5Gbps downloads. Ports include HDMI, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a dual nano-SIM slot.
The Redmagic 6S Pro will retail for just $599 (12GB/128GB) or $699 (16GB/256GB) for the black version. The transparent back variant is priced at $729 with a 16GB/256GB configuration.
