If you’re not a fan of the typical watch or smartwatch design, then the Nubia Watch may be just the ticket for you. Now live on Kickstarter, this curved smartwatch plays host a to a number of both smart and fitness features.
The Nubia Watch totally distances itself from the typical watch design by offering a large, curved scratch-resistant, 4.01-inch AMOLED flexible display. There’s a large amount of screen space that can be occupied by useful and relevant information at-a-glance. Along with that, users can also enjoy the dynamically scrolling text and animation as well as live wallpapers which are, of course, customizable. Nubia already offers hundreds of downloadable widgets and a number of watch faces to choose from for even deeper personalization or customization.
In terms of smart functionality, the Nubia Watch can take incoming calls, texts, email, Facebook, What’s App, and Line notifications. Connecting it via Bluetooth will give you hands-free capabilities and even set up the calendar for reminders or alarms to important dates.
The Nubia Watch also aims to be a partner to the more fitness-oriented user. It’s equipped with a number of features that include an accelerometer and a high-precision heart sensor. It provides four sport modes for monitoring calories, steps, distance, and sports performance. It also monitors sleep cycles.
For battery, the Nubia Watch can last up to 7 days when in power-saving mode and up to 36 hours when fully functional. It syncs to the user’s device via the Nubia Wear app readily available on the App Store and Google Play store.
Nubia is funding the Nubia Watch through Kickstarter with super early bird pledges starting at $179. The campaign has already surpassed its $10,000 goal and is now at $50,885 as of writing. Estimated delivery will be in October of this year.
