Mattel is adding two horror icons to its Monster High Skullector Doll collection just in time for Halloween.

The toy company announced today that Mattel Creations ― Mattel’s e-commerce and content platform for creators, collaborations, and innovators ― will be releasing its newest Monster High Skullector Doll Set on October 14th.

Called Frankenstein’s Monster & The Bride of Frankenstein, the two-in-one doll set includes a Frankenstein doll and a doll in the likeness of his betrothed. Inspired by Universal Pictures’ 1935 horror film The Bride of Frankenstein, the doll set is packed with signature Monster High elements, including premium fabrics and authentic details that make it a first-class collectible for horror fans.

Looking like a power couple on a red-carpet event, Frankenstein is wearing matching pants and a jacket with an all-over zigzag pattern, while his bride is parading a white dress with long strips of see-through draperies at the back, creating an illusion of a cape.

For their footwear, Frankenstein is rocking a pair of black platform shoes, while the titular bride completes her over-the-top outfit with a pair of white heels with transparent blue-green heels.

The launch of the Frankenstein’s Monster & The Bride of Frankenstein follows previous Monster High Skullector Doll sellout drops of Universal Monsters’ Dracula from Universal Pictures, and classic monsters from Warner Brothers Pictures Beetlejuice and Lydia, Pennywise, the Grady Twins, and Greta Gremlin.

About The Bride of Frankenstein

Directed by James Whale, 1935’s The Bride of Frankenstein is the first sequel to Universal Pictures’ 1931 film Frankenstein. Taking place immediately after the events of the earlier film, the follow-up is rooted in a subplot of the original 1818 Mary Shelley novel, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, and follows a chastened Henry Frankenstein as he attempts to abandon his plans to create life, only to be tempted and finally coerced by his old mentor Dr. Pretorius, along with threats from the Monster, into constructing a mate for the Monster.

The Bride of Frankenstein starred Boris Karloff as the Monster, Colin Clive as Henry Frankenstein, Ernest Thesiger as Doctor Septimus Pretorius, and Elsa Lanchester in the dual role of Mary Shelley and the titular character at the end of the film.

Written by William Hurlbut, the movie was released to critical and popular acclaim. Although it encountered difficulties with some state and national censorship boards, the film’s reputation has grown, and it is now frequently considered one of the greatest sequels ever made.
