If you’re one of those people who love mixing a bag of M&M’s into a bowl of freshly made popcorn, then you’d be thrilled to know that the candy brand has actually rolled out a new flavor inspired by this snack hack.
Aptly called M&M’s Chocolate Popcorn, this new candy features a chocolate popcorn-flavored shell with an extra crispy center that copies the crunch of freshly made popcorn. Staying true to the movie-house snack they are trying to recreate, these candies come in dark brown, neon yellow, and off-white colors.
According to a snack reviewer for The Impulse Buy, M&M’s Chocolate Popcorn smells “outstanding” as it perfectly captures the essence of a creamy, buttery milk chocolate concoction. Though there’s a definite butter flavor with a hint of salt, the reviewer pointed out that it’s “very light” and “seemed to diminish” as you consume more. The reviewer was also impressed by the candy’s crisp rice core, saying that it’s really reminiscent of the crunch that popcorn gives. Overall, the reviewer gave the M&M’s Chocolate Popcorn a rating of 8 out of 10.
Snack-tracking Instagram account Snackgator has also tried the new flavor, and based on its brief review, the new candies “really do give off a buttery popcorn vibe and an amazing scent.”
Already spotted at Sheetz and other retailers across the country, M&M’s Chocolate Popcorn is available in a huge lay-down bag (7.44 oz), regular shareable bag (2.83 oz), and single size bag (1.35 oz). Since it’s not clear whether this is a permanent flavor or a limited-time offering, you might want to pick up a pack the moment you see one.
