LG formally unveiled its LG Counter-Depth MAX refrigerator to a small audience it hosted at a “secret location” tagged “The Max Lounge” in New York City.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX refrigerator boasts a spacious 26 cu. ft. capacity, offering ample storage without protruding from the counter, resulting in a sleek “built-in” appearance. With its sleek design and premium finishing, this refrigerator is tailored for design-conscious customers while delivering many enhanced, and some pretty unusual refrigeration features.

One of the major highlights of the fridge is its ability to produce four types of ice, which LG claims is a first for home refrigerators. LG demonstrated how the LG Counter-Depth MAX refrigerator can produce cubed, crushed, and mini-cubed ice, and emphasized the refrigerator’s ability to produce LG’s unique “slow-melting, round Craft Ice”.

Customers who purchase the LG Counter-Depth MAX refrigerator can enjoy the cubed or crushed ice through the dispenser in the door, while the mini-cubed and “slow-melting, round Craft Ice” is produced by ice-makers inside the fridge.

According to LG, the goal in including this function in the LG Counter-Depth MAX refrigerator is to enable party hosts tailor drinks to each guest’s preference, and mixology experts were on site to demonstrate to guests how the ice cubes can be used to craft and modify drinks.

Additionally, the LG Counter-Depth MAX refrigerator is the first refrigerator of its kind to feature LG’s edge-to-edge Mirror InstaView window. The Mirror InstaView window allows customers to view the contents inside the fridge by simply knocking on the glass panel, activating the interior lighting. When the interior lighting is off, the glass panel blends seamlessly into the fridge’s mirror design to create a seamless minimalist look.
