General Mills’ Hershey’s Kisses Cereal has arrived at Walmart earlier than expected.
The new cereal was rumored to hit the shelves sometime in 2020, but the chocolaty breakfast treat has already been spotted at some Walmart locations as early as last week. One of the few lucky shoppers that found it early was YouTuber Tami Dunn, who posted a review of the cereal online.
In her almost five-minute YouTube video, Tami says that the family size box of the Hershey’s Kisses Cereal costs $3.64 each, and a cup of it weighs 36 grams and contains 140 calories. Tami’s husband, Kevin, who is also featured in the video, says that the new cereals remind him of Kellogg’s Coco Pops Cereal, as both are cocoa-flavored.
“It tastes cocoa but it’s not bitter or anything like that. It’s actually really nice,” Tami says of Hershey’s Kisses Cereal after tasting it. While the cereal can be eaten as it is, Kevin comments that it’s actually better to eat it with milk because the milk adds a little creaminess to it. “I guess it’s the fattiness of the milk that makes it a little bit of a different flavor,” says Kevin.
Tami also notes that the cereal stays crunchy even after adding milk to it. In conclusion, Tami and Kevin both agree that the cereal doesn’t exactly have the taste of Hershey’s kisses, as it’s not overly sweet. And though it doesn’t beat their favorite cereals, Tami and Kevin say that Hershey’s Kisses Cereal tastes “very good” not to try.
Hershey’s Kisses Cereal isn’t the first Hershey’s cereal to be released in the market. Long before it was unveiled, General Mills’ Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme cereal has already been available. Hershey also partnered with Kellogg’s for a crème-filled chocolate crunchy cereal in Korea years ago.
