Ice cream brand Drumstick is challenging its fans to get a tattoo for a chance to win a year’s worth of sundae cones.

Drumstick knows there’s nothing fans won’t do to experience the sweet, velvety taste of their favorite post-dinner indulgence and midday snack. But the maker of the beloved sundae cones wants to find out just how deep that love runs.
So in celebration of National Ice Cream Day and National Tattoo Day, which both fall on July 17th, the brand is daring its super fans to get a tattoo for a chance to win a one-year supply of sundae cones.
How to join the tattoo challenge
The challenge runs July 8th through July 31st, giving you ample time to get a Drumstick tattoo. The tattoo can be real or temporary, Mini Drum or Lil’ Drum, or drawn on with a sharpie…however you decide to express your love for the frozen dessert.
To enter to win, tag @Drumstick and share a photo of your ice cream tattoo on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #DrumstickInk. Make sure you’re also following @Drumstick on Instagram or Twitter, depending on which platform you’re sharing the picture of your tattoo on.
At the end of the challenge duration, the brand will randomly select five lucky winners who will each win a one-year supply of sundae cones.
Where did the idea of the tattoo challenge come from?
The idea was born from the brand’s newest mascot, Dr. Umstick. Quirky but lovable, Dr. Umstick is part doctor, part action-hero, and part philosopher-king. Mystified by life mysteries, Dr. Umstick is obsessed with sundae cones, which he considers his muse, sidekick, his crutch, and one true love. It goes without saying that Dr. Umstick lives life one day, one Drumstick, at a time.
And as revealed in a video last May, it turns out that Dr. Umstick also has a penchant for ink. In the 15-second clip, which you can watch below, Dr. Umstick visits a tattoo parlor to get a sundae cone tattoo on his left chest.
What is Drumstick ice cream?
Owned by Froneri, a joint venture between Nestlé and PAI Partners, Drumstick is a brand of sundae cones sold around the world. A typical Drumstick consists of a sugar cone filled with vanilla frozen dairy dessert topped with a hardened chocolate shell and nuts. Newer versions of the frozen dessert come with a chocolate-lined cone and a chunk of chocolate at the bottom.
The original Drumstick was invented by I.C. Parker of the Drumstick Company in 1928. Fast-forward to 1991, Nestlé purchased the Texas-based company and has since released different varieties of ice cream cones, including Fun Dipped, Lil’ Drums, Mini Drums, and King Size.
