Coca-Cola has teamed up with online fan connection platform Cameo for a number of exciting “Santa” experiences for consumers this holiday season.
One of those is this month’s in-real-life Cameo debut of Coca-Cola’s iconic Santa, who first appeared in the company’s advertising in the 1920s. Starting last Tuesday through November 16th, consumers in the U.S. and Canada can request a personalized Cameo video from Santa himself by heading over to https://us.coca-cola.com/holiday-hub. The requested video can be for the entrants themselves or for someone else. Participants can also indicate whether they’d like the video to be in English, Spanish, or French.
According to the sweepstakes’ official rules, 1,200 English language winners, 150 Spanish language winners, and 150 French Canadian language winners will be selected randomly. The personalized video messages can be downloaded and saved to a phone or computer, and can also be shared with friends and family in real life, via text or social media.
“Cameo exists to facilitate impossible fan connections and create memories that last, and we’re thrilled to partner with Coca-Cola to bring a new way for families and fans to interact with Santa Claus this holiday season,” said Arthur Leopold, Cameo Chief Business Officer, in a statement. “We’ve taken the traditional meet-and-greet with Santa Claus and turned it into a more accessible, authentic, and personalized experience, and we look forward to enhancing future holiday celebrations by providing access to more iconic figures we know and love.”
To extend the holiday cheer, Coca-Cola and Cameo will also host a live virtual event to kick off the 25 days of Christmas, where celebrity guests will pop in for the ultimate holiday surprise gathering, and where Santa will introduce Coca-Cola’s short film Real Magic at Christmas.
Created by dentsuMB UK and directed by Sam Brown of Rogue Films, Real Magic at Christmas is rooted in a simple message of festive joy and inclusion. The 2 ½-minute movie follows a boy whose imagination and holiday spirit summon a community’s goodwill and create a shared moment of magic over a festive meal and a Coke.
The iconic Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan will also be back this year to give consumers a first-hand experience with Santa. The caravan’s festive red truck decked out in thousands of sparkling lights and holiday décor will serve as the ultimate backdrop for pictures with Santa, where families can receive a free printed photo to take home. The caravan will stop at local hospitals and Good Will locations across the country to make donations.
