Bird, whose mission has always been to popularize eco-friendly modes of transport, has released its newest product — the electric Bird Bike.

Launched just after its smart bikeshare program, Bird aims have to have their users rethink their current mode of transport and adopt a more eco-friendly option like the Bird Bike.

Electric Bird Bike

Designed by the same team that’s responsible for the Bird Three electric scooter, the Bird Bike features a powerful Bafang rear hub motor that offers up to 50 miles of range. It works alongside a 36V/12.8Ah removable battery that provides up to 250W of continuous power for riders in Europe and the United Kingdom while riders in the US are offered up to 500W.

The bike’s frame is made of commercial-grade aluminum alloy with Kenda puncture-resistant tires. It offers a max speed of 20mph with mechanical disc braking and integrated LED lights.

Bird also developed “Bird Boost” which provides an extra burst of e-acceleration and can be activated on-demand by the integrated thumb throttle.

Additional features onboard the Bird Bike include an LCD display, IP65+ water resistance, fully adjustable seat heights, and Bluetooth and app connectivity.

The Bird Bike comes with limited availability and retails for $2,999. A step-through (V-frame), as well as a step-over (A-frame), are offered as options for the bike’s body. Colors offered include Stealth Black and Gravity Gray. Bird Bike is available for purchase through the company’s official site and will be available from retailers starting this fall for the US and later on in the year for Europe.
