Today at CES, the 2024 Lenovo ThinkBook PC lineup was unveiled, showcasing a full embrace of AI. The enterprise-focused ThinkBook laptops will feature AI capabilities from Lenovo, including Smart Meeting and Smart Power, along with third-party AI-enhanced applications to enhance user productivity and creativity. Those features will be enabled in part by a neural processing unit that will take a lot of the load off the CPU when it comes to intensive AI tasks that are run on device. And, like almost every other laptop we’re seeing at CES 2024, there will be a keyboard button dedicated to launching Microsoft’s new Copilot AI assistant.

2024 Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 is a hybrid solution aimed at content creators, designers, and professionals who can benefit from its dual functionality. This device is a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display tablet that can be detached from a keyboard.

The 2024 Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid is the most true to the 2-in-1 name – the keyboard and tablet really are separate computers that can be used independently, the keyboard when paired with another external display

But, unlike other hybrid 2-in-1s, you are actually getting two devices in one with the 2024 Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5. The keyboard is its own device that runs Windows 11 and contains an Intel Core Ultra processor and Intel Arc graphics, and can be paired with a separate external display. That frees up the tablet, which when used separately runs Android on a mobile Qualcomm chipset.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 will be available for purchase in Q2 2024 for $1,999.

2024 Lenovo ThinkBook 14i Gen 6+

The 2024 Lenovo ThinkBook 14i Gen 6+is a more middle-of-the-road option, balancing portability with the need for a regular old laptop that has a decent amount of power. It has the latest Intel Core Ultra processor, and can be configured with up to 32GB RAm and up to a 120Hz 14.5-inch 3K display. Like other devices in the ThinkBook lineup, it will also have access to AI features like Smart Meeting and Smart Power 3.0. Basically, expect the laptops to use AI to optimize battery usage and make meetings look and sound as good as possible by stripping out background noise and sharpening faces.

The 2024 Lenovo ThinkBook 14i Gen 6+ is an option for folks who need a good, solid laptop without maxing out on processing power

But, if you’ve got a mind to use some of the more resource-intensive AI features, the 2024 Lenovo ThinkBook 14i Gen 6+ will also have a ThinkBook Graphics Extension (TGX) port that can connect to an external GPU.

The 2024 Lenovo ThinkBook 14i Gen 6+ and ThinkBook Graphics Extension will be available as a bundle starting at $2,199 from Q2 2024.

2024 Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 5

Differing from the other PCs in the lineup, the accessory-friendly Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 5 is equipped with an Intel Core i9 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU with AI NVIDIA cores, making it one of the more powerful members of the ThinkBook line. Lenovo is also using their LA3 AI chip to power their own AI features, including the meeting and battery usage features we mentioned above.

That’s a lot of power, so in addition to the battery optimization, Lenovo has implemented an enhanced thermal management system to keep the laptop cool and quiet during use.

The ThinkBook 16p will also have a 3.2K, 16:10 display with X-Rite color calibration and DCI-P3 or sRGB support, a must for folks who will be using these for any kind of design work.

As before, the Lenovo ThinkBook 16p works with Lenovo’s Magic Bay accessories. This year, check out the Lenovo Magic Bay Studio — it’s a 4K webcam that utilizes AI to enhance clarity, sharpness, and color accuracy during video conferences. Users can connect this device to their PC using the pogo pin connector at the top of the display.
