Twitter is calling for a Black Canary series starring Jurnee Smollet 1

On Wednesday, #BlackCanaryHBOSeries started to trend on Twitter. Fans were calling out to HBO to produce a spinoff series for DC’s Black Canary starring Jurnee Smollet. The call for a new show is because of the popularity of Smollet’s portrayal which fans first saw in the film Birds of Prey. 

Birds of Prey, which starred Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, was a film that received mixed reviews. but Smollett’s take on the vigilante became a quick fan favorite. Her popularity only increased the demand for Black Canary to appear again either through a new film or this possible TV series spinoff.

And with DC recently releasing the Snyder cut for Justice League, fans are hopeful that the studio will listen and produce the show for HBO or HBO Max, with Smollet reprising her role of course.
