Pop culture brand 100% Soft has unveiled a brand-new Dumpster Fire vinyl figure featuring the popular This is Fine dog named Question Hound.
Simply called This is Fine Dog Dumpster Fire vinyl figure, the highly collectible toy features the apocalyptic meeting of Dumpster Fire and Question Hound who plops his butt down on the burning trash receptacle oblivious of the flames and danger.
The phrase “This Is Fine” can be seen on the front of the dumpster, just above the little, contented smile of Dumpster Fire. Measuring about 3 1/2-inches tall, this one-of-a-kind collector’s item comes packed in an original box designed by This is Fine creator KC Green.
Priced at $30, the This is Fine Dog Dumpster Fire vinyl figure is now available for preorder at Entertainment Earth with shipping slated for September.
The figure is part of a collection of Dumpster Fire merchandise items that includes pins, hats, and keychains, which are also available at Entertainment Earth.
There’s also a Funko Pop! vinyl figure in the likeness of Question Hound. The Entertainment Earth exclusive is available for preorder for $13.99, with the next batch set to arrive in September.
The Dumpster Fire character, which is best known as a GIF, was created by Truck Torrence, the Koreatown-based artist behind 100% Soft. Torrence’s original Dumpster Fire is a teal, anthropomorphic trash bin with flames shooting out of its top and a cute little smile on its face.
Question Hound, meanwhile, was created by Green. The anthropomorphic dog character made its debut in 2013 in a Gunshow webcomic strip titled, On Fire. In the webcomic strip, Question Hound is drinking tea in a room that is burning down. Despite its own body catching fire and beginning to melt, the dog remains perfectly calm throughout the six-panel strip, saying lines such as “That’s okay, things are going to be okay.” The first two panels of the strip, featuring the dog simply sitting in the blazing room saying “this is fine” became a popular internet meme.
