The pandemic has forced people to find new creative ways to stay connected to their loved ones virtually. With this in mind, SLING TV has announced a feature that will give friends and family a new way to keep each other company. The new SLING Watch Party feature allows users to video chat while watching their favorite TV shows.

Currently, still in beta, the SLING Watch Party feature will become available to existing SLING TV customers via Google Chrome web browsers. A special beta preview will be available until September 30th which will allow guests to join watch parties with a free SLING TV account.

Users will be able to connect via video and chat while watching the same show or movie. Programs available will depend on the user’s subscription. The user hosting the watch party will be in charge of the player controls but all participants will be able to adjust their own video settings including the volume of streamed content or video chats of other participants.

To host a SLING Watch Party, users just have to log in to their SLING accounts through Google Chrome and select any eligible program. A “Create Watch Party” button should be available from the program’s information screen. For those who want to watch live programs, you can also create a watch party 60 minutes before the scheduled air time. Users will be allowed to invite up to three guests at a time only.
