Live TV streaming service, Sling TV, announced last Tuesday that it be making its service free during primetime hours. The company is campaigning this free service as “Happy Hour Across America” and it was implemented to help entertain customers who are stuck at home during the Pandemic.
Starting April 15th, between 5:00 pm and 12:00AM, Sling will be offering its Sling Blue package for free to registered customers. To avail of this promo, customers need only sign up on Sling’s official site, but a credit card is not required. The usual going rate for the Sling Blue package is currently $30 per month, which is for the service’s lowest tier membership.
The Sling Blue package will allow up to three streams at the same time as well as a Cloud DVR service for all Sling-supported platforms except for Comcast. There are about 47 channels available, depending on which TV market customers are residing in. Some of the channels included are HGTV, TLC, CNN, Fox News, E!, Cartoon Network, and many others. Customers will also be able to access a vast library of on-demand movies and TV shows.
There has been no official announcement by Sling TV on how long the free service will last but the company has seen a rise in its users by 164% over the past month.
