An update to the Redmi Note 11 series, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 series lineup has been unveiled and it’s comprised of five devices: The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12, and a new Redmi Watch 3.
The updates include an improved camera system, battery life, and charging speed, and tweaks to the overall design of the devices to improve usability.
Best of all, the devices are all priced affordably, given their high-end components, but Xiaomi has not yet released availability information for any of the devices.
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and Redmi Note 12 Pro
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is the standout device in the lineup. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset. It has a 120Hz 6.67-inch AMOLED display with slimmer bezels, a 200MP wide camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro camera.
Manufacturers love to emphasize large numbers when promoting their camera system, so it is best not to read too much into the “200MP” wide-angle camera until the device has been tested and reviewed.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G also has a 5,000mAh battery which supports Xiaomi’s 120W HyperCharge technology.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro has the same MediaTek chipset and 120Hz 6.67-inch AMOLED display as the Note 12 Pro+ 5G. The significant differences between the two are the camera system and charging. Unlike the Note 12 Pro+ 5G, the Note 12 Pro has an IMX766 50MP wide camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro camera.
The Note 12 Pro also has a 5,000mAh battery, but the battery only supports 67W turbocharging. This device also weighs less than the Note 12 Pro+ 5G, coming in at just 187g compared to the Note 12 Pro+ 5G’s 210.5g weight.
Both devices support dual 5G sims, Wi-Fi 6 technology, and have a 16MP selfie camera. They also have security features like a side fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro come in three color options: midnight black, polar white, and sky blue.
Pricing
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G will start at EUR 499 for the 8GB/256GB storage option, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro will have three storage options: 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB, and start at EUR 399.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G and Redmi Note 12
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G and Redmi Note 12 target the lower mid-range smartphone segment, but they still have some remarkable components. Both devices sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED DotDisplay, a 13MP front camera, and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
The significant differences between the devices are processors, connectivity, processors, storage, and color. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G has a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro camera, while the Redmi Note 12 has a 50MP wide camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro-camera. Xiaomi says both cameras have many features and filters, such as enabling users to take impressive images using the Night Mode feature.
As previously stated, camera megapixel count does not translate to better images. But if you’re wondering why the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 has a slightly “better” camera than the Redmi Note 12 5G, it is probably because the Redmi Note 12 5G supports dual sim 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.1, and up to 256GB storage options, while the Redmi Note 12 comes with support for a dual sim and microSD, Bluetooth 5.0, and maxes out at 128GB storage.
We also expect the Redmi Note 12 5G to offer slightly better performance and power efficiency since it has a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor compared to the Snapdragon 685 processor of the Redmi Note 12.
Pricing
The Redmi Note 12 5G comes with the following color options: Onyx Gray, Forest Green, and Ice Blue, and it will start at EUR 299. The Redmi Note 12 has the following color options: Onyx Gray, Mint Green, and Ice Blue, and it will start at EUR 199.
Redmi Watch 3

The Redmi Watch 3 is another wearable that takes design cues from the Apple Watch.
Xiaomi announced that the new Redmi Watch 3 would have a 1.75-inch AMOLED display with improved brightness, contrast, and slimmer bezels.
The watch uses sensors to monitor the user’s health functions, such as blood oxygen, heart rate, and sleep and is equipped with support for five GPS systems.
Pricing
The Xiaomi Redmi Watch 3 will be available in the following color options: Black and Ivory at a starting price of EUR 199.
