Japanese streetwear label, AMBUSH, has partnered with Beats by Dr. Dre to introduce a new, Powerbeats AMBUSH special edition that’s sure to make you shine, or rather, glow.

Inspired by Tokyo night lights, this special edition piece offers the same high performance and useful features of the Powerboats but with the ability to glow in the dark.

“I live in the middle of Shibuya and I am always inspired by how the city just glows at night time,” said AMBUSH co-director and creative director Yoon Ahn. “I thought it would be really cool to design a product that could capture that same city energy when you’re outside late at night listening to music.”

Powerbeats is the more affordable sibling of the Powerbeats Pro that’s powered by an Apple H1 chip. They are sweat and water-resistant, and they offer up to 15 hours of battery life. The original edition comes in red, white, or black, but this Powerbeats AMBUSH special edition sports a mint green color, quite similar to the glow-in-the-dark star stickers of the 90s, with a red beats logo on the side. And much like those stickers, the headphones start to glow when the lights go out.

These headphones definitely make a statement. Nigerian artist, Burna Boy, joins as the face of the headphones campaign. He is known best for is Afro-fusion music and positive messages to Africans to “know themselves and be proud of who they are.”
