OPPO has announced a November 21st launch event in Bali, Indonesia, where it plans to unveil its latest flagship smartphones, the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro, alongside ColorOS 15.

The larger of the two, the Find X8 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch display and micro-quad-curved glass on both sides. Its Pearl White variant features a unique pearlescent pattern on each device, so that no two are the same, while a Space Black option will also be available.

For those looking for a more pocket-friendly flagship, the smaller Find X8 measures 7.9mm thick and weighs 193g, featuring a 6.59-inch display with 1.45mm bezels.  It will be available in Star Grey, Space Black, and Shell Pink, with a matte finish that OPPO claims reduces fingerprints. It’s designed for one-handed operation.

Both phone displays offer impressive peak brightness levels of up to 4,500 nits for HDR content.

The new flagships also come with OPPO’s Hasselblad-branded camera system alongside new AI features, including what the company calls “AI Telescope Zoom” for enhanced zoom capabilities at 10x and beyond.

The Find X8 in particular features three 50MP cameras, including a periscope zoom lens, while the Pro model adds a second periscope camera for even more versatile shooting options.

The devices can capture up to seven photos per second with OPPO’s “Lightning Snap” feature, with every image having the same quality – allowing it to operate just like a DSLR – with every image having the same quality. There’s also zero shutter lag.

Under the hood, both models use MediaTek’s powerful Dimensity 9400 processor. The Find X8 houses a 5,630mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the Pro model gets a slightly larger 5,910mAh capacity. Both support 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The phones will run on ColorOS 15, OPPO’s latest Android-based operating system, bringing numerous AI features and a refined user experience, the latter being something that we’ve been hoping for ever since reviewing the Oppo Reno 12 Pro.

Pete Lau, OPPO’s Chief Product Officer, emphasized the company’s focus on combining premium features with a more manageable form factor.

“Until now, flagship camera phones with ultra-zoom, power, battery life and AI tools have been weighed down by thick, heavy designs, but Find X8 Series changes the game. Find X8 is a thin and light powerhouse with ultra-beating battery life and a periscope zoom. Find X8 Pro takes zoom further, delivering ultra-grade experiences without the bulk. And with ColorOS 15’s smart and smooth experience, Find X8 Series is set to mark an exciting shift for the smartphone industry.”

Oppo’s previous flagships, the Find X7 Ultra and Find X6 Ultra, offered excellent DSLR-level photography, but the phones themselves were a bit bulky. Even more disappointing was the fact that they weren’t available outside of China. So perhaps the most exciting news is that this flagship series will be available globally this time around, marking OPPO’s return to international markets following their recent patent agreement with Nokia.
