Cereal manufacturer Post Consumer Brands has released a much creamier version of Oreo O’s.
Dubbed as Mega Stuf Oreo O’s, this new breakfast cereal appears to recreate the taste of a Double Stuf Oreo cookie by combining the brand’s chocolaty, crunchy cereal O’s with crème filling-flavored marshmallows.
“Your favorite treat, now in your cereal bowl,” reads the product’s official description. “Chocolatey, crunchy O’s with that Oreo cookie taste you love and marshmallows come together in an unbelievably delicious breakfast combination. There’s nothing quite like it, even in your dreams. But it’s not a dream.”
Mega Stuf Oreo O’s are currently rolling out exclusively to Walmart stores across the country, and is expected to be available nationwide by the end of the first week of June. The new cereal is sold in 28-ounce resealable bags as well as in standard 10.5-ounce cereal boxes, which sells for $3.98 each.
While the recent launch of Mega Stuf Oreo O’s has made people with sweet tooth really excited, loyal fans of the cereal know that this isn’t the first time the cereal has added marshmallows to its mix. Four years after the debut of the original Oreo O’s in 1997, Post Consumer Brands released a new version of the cereal. Called Extreme Creme Taste Oreo O’s, this variant featured the crème filling-flavored marshmallows that can also be found in Mega Stuf Oreo O’s today.
All Oreo O’s variants were discontinued in 2007 over a dispute between Post Consumer Brands and Kraft, which owns Oreo. Though the cereal made a triumphant return in 2017, it is unclear how long the original Oreo O’s and the new Mega Stuf Oreo O’s cereals will be available in the market.
