Will McDonald’s Choco Scoop and Strawberry Scoop be available in the U.S.?

Time will only tell if McDonald’s will be bringing Choco Scoop and Strawberry Scoop to the United States. But because both vegan ice cream flavors are getting positive reviews from customers in the U.K., it’s likely that a test run in the U.S. could also happen soon..

What do McDonald’s Choco Scoop and Strawberry Scoop taste like?

In a Reddit thread last week, one user who tried the vegan ice cream options described them as “a cross between soft serve and regular ice cream.”

Another Redditor shared, “I tried it today too! Was a total surprise to me when I looked at the menu boards. I tried the chocolate version which just tasted like a cold chocolate mousse but was very tasty.”

A lot of Redditors who tried the Choco Scoop said they were really “impressed” by the flavor.

It was also revealed in the Reddit thread that both vegan flavors come in tubs (1.59 GBP each or around 2 USD ) and are not dispensed out of an ice cream machine. So, if you’re from the U.K. and are planning to try the ice creams, you don’t have to worry about broken ice cream machines.

Why is McDonald’s testing vegan ice cream?

McDonald’s is testing vegan ice cream options to cater to the growing demand for plant-based and dairy-free products. For years, dairy-free customers have been requesting more vegan dessert options from McDonald’s.

McDonald’s introduction of vegan ice cream is also part of the fast-food chain’s plan to expand its menu and stay competitive in the fast-food industry, where plant-based alternatives are becoming increasingly popular. It also aligns with McDonald’s broader commitment to reducing its environmental impact and providing more sustainable menu items.
