Calling all Jujutsu Kaisen fans and McNugget enthusiasts! McDonald’s is casting a spell on your taste buds with a brand-new dipping sauce collaboration. Called Special Grade Garlic Sauce, this limited-edition condiment is inspired by the hit anime series and promises to add a punch of savory-sweet flavor to your next McNugget order. McDonald’s x Jujutsu Kaisen Special Grade Garlic Sauce
Inspired by the iconic Black Garlic Sauce offered at McDonald’s outlets in Japan, the Special Grade Garlic Sauce is the first garlic sauce ever to hit McDonald’s USA’s menus. It contains notes of garlic and soy sauce, balanced with a slight tangy sweetness.
The packaging of the new sauce features eight unique lid designs starring fan-favorite characters from the hit anime series. Below is the list of Jujutsu Kaisen characters featured in the sauce’s lid.
- Yuji Itadori: A rare talent not seen in a thousand years who is able to withstand the poison of Sukuna and become his human vessel.
- Megumi Fushiguro: A genius who enrolled as a 2nd-grade sorcerer and the only first-year student allowed to carry out solo missions.
- Nobara Kugisaki: A strong-willed 3rd-grade jujutsu sorcerer who came to Tokyo from the countryside.
- Satoru Gojo: The strongest special grade sorcerer and teacher at Tokyo Jujutsu High.
- Kento Nanami: A junior of Gojo who became a salaryman, but later returned to Tokyo Jujutsu High to become a 1st grade sorcerer – the most adult of adults.
- Suguru Geto: A villain special grade sorcerer whose goal is to create a paradise for sorcerers, free of humans.
- Mahito: A curse that originated from humans who can change the appearance of a person by touching their soul.
- Sukuna: A king who survived more than a thousand years ago and still threatens this world after his death.
How To Get One
Starting July 9, the Special Grade Garlic Sauce will be exclusively available through the McDonald’s App for a limited time, while supplies last. It can be added to any order of Chicken McNuggets for free, or ordered as a side with any other item.

McDonald’s Other New Sauces
This is not the first time McDonald’s has collaborated with a show to create a new sauce. In August 2023, the fast-food giant partnered with the Disney+ series Loki for a special sweet and sour sauce to go along with its appearance on the web series itself.
As far as anime goes, McDonald’s memorably flipped its “M” upside down in February 2024 in a nod to the chain’s anime alter ego, WcDonald’s, which came with a limited-edition savory chili sauce.
The impending release of McDonald’s Jujutsu Kaisen Special Grade Garlic Sauce also follows the company’s introduction of two limited-edition sauces in October 2023: the Sweet & Spicy Jam and the Mambo Sauce.
The Sweet & Spicy Jam was a red pepper dipping sauce that combined Szechuan peppercorn, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper. The Mambo Sauce, meanwhile was a tomato-based, sweet, spicy, and vinegary sauce, inspired by Washington, D.C.
What Is Jujutsu Kaisen?
Jujutsu Kaisen is a manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since 2018. A 24-episode anime television series adaptation produced by MAPPA aired from October 2020 to March 2021, with a second season airing from July to December 2023. After the second season’s finale, a sequel covering the Culling Game arc in the manga was announced. It’s unclear, however, whether the sequel will be the third season of the anime, or will come out in the form of a movie.
The anime series follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he joins a secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers to eliminate a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna, of whom Yuji becomes the host.
Jujutsu Kaisen has received critical acclaim, winning numerous awards including Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. It has also become one of the best-selling manga series of all time.
