Walmart has just dropped the HP HyperX OMEN 15 Gaming Laptop from $1,899 to $1,249, saving you $650. That’s a pretty big discount for a laptop packing a recent Intel processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics, and a 165Hz display.
The laptop includes smart performance tools to optimize game settings, an advanced cooling system to manage heat, and a high-resolution screen that makes games and movies look sharp. It’s also powerful enough for schoolwork, content creation, and other demanding tasks, making it a practical option beyond gaming.
Why Choose the HP HyperX OMEN 15 Gaming Laptop?
The HyperX OMEN 15 has plenty of power under the hood, starting with the Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor. This chip is designed to handle multitasking, everyday productivity, and AAA games without missing a beat.
Add the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, which uses NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture, and you get a laptop with excellent gaming performance and AI-powered features. This GPU supports advanced ray tracing for more realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections in compatible games. Plus, NVIDIA’s fifth-generation Tensor Cores help power AI features that can improve performance and visual quality in supported titles.
On the display side, you get a 1920 x 1200 IPS screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate makes fast-moving games feel smoother and more responsive, while the IPS panel provides wide viewing angles and good color reproduction.
Its 16:10 display gives you a little more vertical screen space than a traditional 16:9 laptop. That extra room helps when reading documents, editing photos, browsing websites, or working with multiple windows. And since the laptop has a 91% screen-to-body ratio, you get a spacious viewing area without overly thick borders around the display.
The HP HyperX OMEN 15 also features HP’s OMEN AI, which helps you figure out the ideal graphics settings for supported games. It’s designed to help improve your FPS while balancing performance and visual quality.
For gamers who want more control, OMEN Unleashed Mode lets you manually adjust supported performance settings, including overclocking options. It’s particularly useful for experienced players who want to fine-tune their laptop for demanding games, although higher performance settings can also increase heat and power use.
The HyperX OMEN 15 comes with two months of Xbox Game Pass Premium, giving eligible users access to a selection of games without having to buy each title separately. Plus, its OMEN Light Studio gives you control over the laptop’s lighting effects, letting you choose from options such as ambient, wave, and interactive lighting to match your preferences or gaming setup.
Beyond gaming, this laptop can serve multiple purposes. College students can use it for coursework and entertainment, while creators can use its processor and dedicated graphics for video editing, photo work, and other demanding applications. It also makes sense for anyone who wants a capable Windows laptop for serious gaming after work.
A $650 price cut makes the HyperX OMEN 15 a lot more appealing, especially if you’ve been waiting for a gaming laptop with modern NVIDIA graphics and a fast display. At $1,249 instead of $1,899, it’s a great buy for anyone who wants strong performance without spending close to $2,000.
