Excitement is building among Star Trek fans as rumors swirl about a groundbreaking collaboration between the iconic franchise and LEGO. For the first time ever, a LEGO Star Trek set is reportedly coming out later this year. Read on to learn everything we know so far about this highly anticipated release.

What’s the rumored LEGO Star Trek set?

While LEGO has partnered with numerous iconic franchises, a LEGO Star Trek set has long been a dream for fans. Now, rumors suggest this dream may finally become reality, thanks to the LEGO Icons series, which often releases building sets based on iconic movies and TV shows.

According to YouTuber Max Baut, a massive 3,600-piece set featuring the iconic Enterprise-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation is in the works. This ambitious build is expected to include minifigures of the entire bridge crew: Captain Picard, Commander Riker, Lt. Commander Data, Lt. Commander La Forge, Lt. Worf, Counselor Troi, Dr. Crusher, Wesley Crusher, Guinan, and even Data’s cat Spot. But as per Cinema Blend, Tasha Yar, a character who was killed early in the series, is not included, as this set was modeled after her death.

For reference, the Millennium Falcon set from the LEGO Star Wars collection boasts an impressive 5,197 pieces. Given this, the rumored Enterprise-D set, with its 3,600 pieces, is likely to be a substantial and detailed build as well.

How much does the LEGO Enterprise-D set cost?

The official price for the LEGO Enterprise-D set has not been revealed yet, but it’s expected to be in the premium price range, likely exceeding several hundred dollars. If the rumors hold true, Star Trek fans can look forward to its release in November 2025.

Can the Enterprise-D set give birth to an entire LEGO Star Trek collection?

The success of this initial LEGO Star Trek set, particularly if it’s as well-received as the iconic Millennium Falcon set, could easily pave the way for an entire collection. Here’s why:

  • Proven Success of LEGO Star Wars: The LEGO Star Wars collection is a massive success story. It demonstrates that a strong IP with a dedicated fanbase can translate incredibly well into a diverse and profitable line of LEGO sets.
  • Rich Star Trek Universe: The Star Trek universe is brimming with iconic ships, characters, and locations. From the original series to The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and beyond, there’s a wealth of material to draw inspiration from.
  • High Fan Demand: Star Trek fans have been eagerly anticipating a LEGO collaboration for years. A successful initial set would likely fuel even more demand for sets featuring other beloved ships like the Enterprise, the Defiant, the Voyager, the Klingon Bird-of-Prey, and many more.

If the initial LEGO Star Trek set proves successful, we could see a thriving collection emerge, featuring a variety of ships, playsets, and minifigures that capture the essence of the Star Trek universe in brick form.
