This summer’s World Cup has brought plenty of drama along with it.
There were goals, poor decisions from referees and even a glimpse of the newest Doctor Who.
Yes, you read that correctly; during a commercial break of the most viewed sporting event on the planet, the BBC shared the first teaser for the upcoming 11th season of Doctor Who.
There is an all-new Doctor for this season too, as actress Jodie Whittaker becomes the first woman to take on the role.
The trailer shows Whittaker only briefly, as the thirteenth Doctor appears for just a second at the end of the teaser.
Still, Jodie Whittaker appeared at this World Cup more times than the USMST, which is quite the achievement.
The British actress takes over from Peter Capaldi, who portrayed the Twelfth Doctor from 2014 to 2017.
We got to see her as The Doctor in the Christmas special for just a few seconds, however it wasn’t clear what direction her version of the character will take.
One thing is for sure; we are excited to be going along for the ride. The season is expected to premiere in October 2018.
The cast of the series will be showing at San Diego Comic-Con this week.
Head along and let us know what you find out!
