The year is wrapping up, and that means some of you might already be thinking about wrapping up holiday gifts. Well, everyone loves a good gadget, and 2024 had lots of them! Come with us as we look back at some of the best gadgets of 2024, all of which we have tested ourselves.
OnePlus Pad 2
OnePlus has always impressed with great Android smartphones at lower prices – no surprise that they can do the same for Android tablets! The OnePlus Pad 2 excels with its powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, vibrant 12.1-inch 3K 144Hz display with 900 nits brightness, and impressive battery life lasting nearly 15 hours. The tablet also offers premium build quality, excellent speakers, fast 67W charging, and strong gaming performance, all while maintaining a seriously competitive price point. It’s currently on sale for just $449, after $100 off. That’s practically a steal considering that this tablet is versatile and powerful enough to replace a laptop.
Motorola Razr+ 2024
The Motorola RAZR 2024 series is our favorite foldable of the year for good reason. The Motorola RAZR made a triumphant comeback in 2024, rekindling the same excitement it generated in 2002 with its iconic flip design, but now enhanced with modern foldable screen technology. The RAZR+ fun color options and satisfying one-handed flip mechanism perfectly blend nostalgia with cutting-edge features. But if magenta pink isn’t your thing, Motorola recently introduced a new fashionable color for the RAZR+, Mocha Mousse, which is Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2025.
Hisense CanvasTV
The Samsung Frame TV finally has some competition in the Hisense CanvasTV. Hisense brought their low cost, high quality ways to the world of art piece TVs this year. The Hisense CanvasTV, which we first saw at CES 2024 back in January, is just the thing for someone who wants their TV to be a picture frame when it’s not in use. It has a gapless wall mount and access to a store of beautiful digital art, ensuring the TV is never just an empty black square in a beautifully designed room.

Roborock Qrevo Curve
A cleaning gadget, one of the best gifts of the year? And it’s $1,600? You bet. Every little detail in the Roborock Qrevo Curv robot vacuum-mop combo has been meticulously thought through: an extendable arm flies out to brush and mop corners, sensors work with the companion app to map out and rooms and identify surface types, and the bot can even detect particularly nasty stains that will need a couple rounds of cleaning. It maximizes cleaning power and minimizes the amount of time you need to spend managing it – enough said!
SKYWORTH Companion Portable 24P100 FHD Google TV
The 24-inch SKYWORTH Companion Portable Google TV brings entertainment anywhere with its built-in battery lasting up to 3 hours. This full HD display integrates Google TV for seamless streaming and content access. Its portable nature makes it perfect for various indoor spaces as well as casual outdoor use.
Yaber T2 Plus Projector
A good projector can be just as solid as a TV for home entertainment, especially if you’ve got a large white wall to take advantage of! The Yaber Projector T2 is one of our favorites – it can throw up to a 120-inch 1080p image on a wall, and comes with its own powerful JBL speaker system. That’s a pretty solid mobile projector at the sub $300 price point, turning any room into a theater experience without breaking the bank.
Oppo Find X8 Pro
Oppo is ending the year strong with a new flagship smartphone and one of the best camera arrays we’ve ever seen! The Oppo Find X8 Pro has four 50 MP Hasselblad cameras in the rear, including not one but two periscope zoom cameras, one capable of 3x optical zoom and one capable of 6x optical zoom. It’s going to take phenomenal pictures both up close and at a distance, and it’ll have AI features to help use just the right camera and just the right settings for each moment.
Beats Pill 2024
A portable Bluetooth speaker classic got an upgrade this year! The new Beats Pill retains its iconic sleek design, but adds much more powerful sound and 24-hour battery life. We’re also loving the slight upward tilt in the design – it really helps project sound more effectively. All that for $150 makes the Beats Pill one of the most welcome gadget comebacks of the year!
Visible Wireless
Cellular service with the big three providers – AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile – is getting way too expensive. Fortunately, more low-cost carriers are available than ever, and they’re getting far easier to set up and use. Visible, which is owned and by Verizon and uses their network, is perfect for single-line plans. For just $25 per month (or just $20 per month for the first two years), you get unlimited talk, text, and 4G/5G data, unlimited texts and calls to Mexico and Canada, and you can even use your phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot. If you don’t need the big carrier perks or a family plan, it’s an easy way to cut the phone bill way down.

Solar P1 3.0
This one’s for the speed demons: the Solar P1 3.0 electric scooter doesn’t just have a top speed of 40 mph, it gets you there lightning fast with a Launch Mode that unlocks the dual motors for max acceleration. Rugged tires and hydraulic suspension in the front make this scooter perfect for all surfaces, too, so that speed can go off road! At $1,300, it’s also one of the most affordable ways to get that kind of speed in an electric scooter.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra
Apple and Samsung aren’t all alone at the top anymore – not when it comes to camera quality! The camera array on the flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra is competitive with the new Oppo Find X8 Pro we mentioned above – it’s also got four cameras, this time from camera pros Leica. With two zoom cameras including a periscope zoom camera that can handle optical zoom up to 5x, this is a phone that takes some gorgeous pictures – perfect for anyone who sees every moment as a potential perfect photo op!
Sonos Ace headphones
We love a good pair of wireless noise-cancelling headphones, but it’s tough to find a pair that can be worn comfortably for long periods of time – crucial for frequent fliers or anyone putting in long hours at the office. Sonos nailed comfort on its first try with their Ace headphones, while preserving the top-notch sound quality that the company is known for. They’re pricey at $349, but the comfort and sound quality is well worth it.
Google Pixel Watch 3
Smartwatches are the hardest gadgets to get right – they’ve got to nail both fashion and function. With a sleek, clean design, the Google Pixel 3 nails the first part, while adding Google-exclusive AI fitness features to move it past other Android smartwatches – the watch can make better workout suggestions and let you know when to pull back during a run if you’ve been pushing your heart rate too high for too long.
Kobo Libra Colour eReader
We love ePaper displays – they’re much easier on the eyes for long reads. But, you usually have to give up color, which is no fun for eBooks that might have illustrations! The Kobo Libra Colour eReader uses some technical wizardry to fix that problem, preserving eye comfort while adding in color – better for illustrations, and better for note taking when you want to highlight using different colors! It’ll be a guaranteed hit for the voracious reader on your list.
Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x with Copilot
This year saw a whole spate of CoPilot+ PCs – laptops built to make the most of AI. Our favorite this year was the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x, and not just because of the AI features. With a beautiful 14.5-inch OLED display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chipset, the laptop is stellar in terms of battery life and performance. Awesome AI features like live translation seal the deal – the Yoga Slim 7x is one of the best laptops of the year.
Poco F6 Pro
Great performance is tough to find in a phone without paying well over $800, right? Not so much – you can grab the Poco F6 Pro, which pairs a powerful processor with an enormous battery, making this a terrific phone for long gaming sessions. For a sub $500 phone, it doesn’t skimp on very many specs, and that makes it one of our favorite mid-range phones of the year for gamers.
