Another Life has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

Another Life has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix 1

Netflix has ordered a second season of the sci-fi drama Another Life.

The Season 2 renewal was announced by series lead star Katee Sackhoff on Tuesday afternoon on Twitter.

Shortly thereafter, the NX on Netflix Twitter account confirmed the news by retweeting Sackhoff’s tweet and revealing other additional details about the show’s sophomore run.

Filming for the new season will start in early 2020 in Vancouver, Canada with cast members Sackhoff, Justin Chatwin, Samuel Anderson, and Elizabeth Faith Ludlow reprising their roles. Creator and showrunner Aaron Martin, who also confirmed the news on Twitter, will return for Season 2 as well.

According to Deadline, the show’s second season will consist of 10 episodes just like its freshman run. Additional cast for the new season will also be announced at a later date.

With just 6 percent on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer and 33 metascore on Metacritic, it’s fair to say that the first season of Another Life failed to impress the critics. But since it was renewed for another season, it’s likely that it has earned a relatively large number of views on Netflix.

The debut season of Another Life opened with the arrival of a Möbius strip-shaped flying object on Earth. After landing, the foreign object grew a mysterious crystal shell, prompting the United States Interstellar Command to hire scientist Erik Wallace (Chatwin) to figure out a way to communicate with the alien monolith. When this assignment proved to be difficult, Wallace’s wife Captain Niko Breckinridge (Sackhoff) was tasked to take the spaceship Salvare and its crew to find the origin of the alien object.

Another Life is executive produced by Martin, Chris Regina, and Noreen Halpern for Halfire Entertainment.
