Android 10 rolls out for the Nokia 7.1

The 2018 smartphone becomes Nokia’s third phone to run Android 10

Android 10 rolls out for the Nokia 7.1 1

Starting today, Android 10 will roll out to the Nokia 7.1 making it the third Nokia phone to receive the latest Android OS update since its launch. Last October, Android 10 rolled out to the Nokia 8.1 and just a few days ago to the Nokia 9 PureView.

HMD Global, the company behind Nokia phones, promised earlier this year to deliver an update to the latest Android OS, Android 10, to three devices in the latter part of 2019 and, with the update rolling out to the Nokia 7.1, they have fulfilled their promise just before the year ends. The rest of their devices will most likely receive their updates starting next year.

Being part of the Android One program, the Nokia 7.1 is expected to receive security updates for up to three years and OS upgrades of up to two years. Android 10 will be the Nokia 7.1’s second OS update and, with that, still makes it a considerable smartphone to pick up despite having been released in early 2018.

As usual, the global rollout will come in stages with some devices receiving the update earlier than others. The Android 10 update will bring a number of new features to the Nokia 7.1. Some of those features include gesture navigation, smart reply, privacy controls, focus mode, and family link.

The Nokia 7.1 can be purchased from Amazon for just $209.
