Amazon is reportedly working on its own smart fridge. Internally called Project Pulse, Insider reports that it will be developed by the same team that worked on the company’s Amazon Go stores.

Amazon has apparently been working on the technology for about two years with Gopi Prashanth, described as a director of computer and artificial intelligence, leading the project.

There’s no release date for the smart fridge but the report details some of its features including the ability to monitor inventory and purchasing habits. It could also be able to track expiration dates and suggest recipes based on the ingredients available inside the fridge. Of course, it offers integration with the company’s grocery arm, Amazon Fresh, as well as with Whole Foods.

The smart fridge will add to the company’s present lineup of smart devices including smart home appliances and wearables. The company’s recent releases even included an Alexa-enabled microwave so other kitchen appliances could be appearing real soon as well.
