Months after Adobe Photoshop launching for iPhone, Adobe just dropped Photoshop for Android in beta.

Since February, iPhone creators have been living their best creative lives with Adobe’s mobile app, whipping up everything from quick photo fixes to elaborate digital masterpieces and now that Android devices are getting some love too.

The Android version isn’t just a quick port job—Adobe packed in the essentials that makes Photoshop work. We’re talking proper layering support, masking tools, and the popular AI-powered Generative Fill feature.

What impressed me most about the iPhone version was how intuitive the touch interface feels. Adobe clearly spent time thinking about how fingers interact with complex editing tools, rather than just shrinking down desktop buttons. The Tap Select tool makes object selection surprisingly smooth—something that’s traditionally been a pain point on mobile editors.

The Spot Healing Brush handles everyday blemish removal like a champ, while Object Select and Magic Wand tools prove surprisingly accurate. Even the Clone Stamp tool, often clunky on mobile platforms, feels easy to use here.

Blend modes and adjustment layers work exactly as you’d expect from desktop Photoshop, which is impressive. Adobe’s clearly banking on users wanting full creative control, even on mobile.

Let’s be honest—this isn’t replacing desktop workflows anytime soon. But for creators who think visually and want to capture ideas when inspiration strikes, it’s a game-changer. The ability to start projects on your Android phone and seamlessly continue on desktop removes major creative friction.

The app particularly shines for content creators needing quick turnarounds. Whether fixing photos for Instagram, creating thumbnails, or mocking up concepts, having legitimate Photoshop tools in your pocket changes everything.

Adobe recommends Android 11 or later with 6GB RAM (8GB preferred).

Ultimately, Photoshop on Android delivers on its core promise: bringing professional editing capabilities to even more mobile devices. While it won’t replace desktop workflows entirely, it fills a genuine gap for creators wanting flexibility and power on the go.
