Sandra Bullock is starring opposite Channing Tatum in the upcoming rom-com adventure film The Lost City. While there is a lot of excitement around the project, it will be the actress’ final movie, at least, for now. But why did Sandra Bullock quit acting?

In an interview with ET Canada, Bullock revealed that she’s stepping back from acting to spend more time with her family. The 57-year-old actress said she needs to be in the place that makes her the “happiest,” and that is at home with her 12-year-old son, Louis, and 10-year-old daughter, Laila.

Will Sandra Bullock act again?

Bullock is not leaving Hollywood for good, but she admitted that she doesn’t know how long her acting hiatus will be.

“I take my job very seriously when I’m at work,” she told ET Canada, pointing out that it’s a “24/7” job. “And [now] I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family. That’s where I’m gonna be for a while.”

When asked what’s on her mom’s to-do list, the award-winning actress replied, “Servicing their every need. Their social calendar.”

What is The Lost City about?

Directed by the Nee Brothers, The Lost City follows Loretta Sage (Bullock), a dissatisfied middle-aged author who writes romance-adventure novels centered around a fictional hero named Dash, who is portrayed by dimwitted cover model Alan Caprison (Tatum). While on tour with Alan to promote her new book, Loretta is kidnapped by Abigail Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe), an eccentric billionaire who believes that the lost city in Loretta’s new book is real and that she knows where it is. Alan, despite having no survival skills, goes off to rescue her.

When will The Lost City be in theaters?

The Lost City will open in U.S. theaters on March 25th.
