Wendy’s has saved its wildest giveaway item for last. On Wednesday, June 3 at 3 p.m. ET, the chain’s Rewards Drops series wraps up with 20 customized Canon PowerShot G7X Mark III cameras.
That’s right – Wendy’s is giving away 20 digital cameras. The same compact shooter that vloggers have been hoarding for years, now stamped with Wendy’s branding and made effectively impossible to actually get your hands on.
This is not an exaggeration. The first three drops in this series included 5,000 Frosty totes, 5,000 Wendy’s charm bracelets, and 1,000 Wendy’s F.C. soccer jerseys. Every round “sold out” in under 90 seconds, and those rounds had thousands of units up for grabs. This one has 20.
The Canon G7X Mark III is what makes this drop genuinely interesting. It’s been a creator-favorite camera for years, so much so that it has fueled a whole TikTok aesthetic, and a custom Wendy’s edition with a print run of 20 is the kind of thing that will likely end up on eBay before dinner.
If you actually want a shot at getting one, here’s what you need to do. Download the Wendy’s app, create a Wendy’s Rewards account, and flip on drop notifications so your phone yells at you the second the claim window opens. Don’t try to refresh manually. Don’t wander off to grab coffee at 2:55. The people who scored items from earlier rounds had the app open and were ready to tap.
Wendy’s hasn’t said whether the Rewards Drops program is coming back later this year. But given how fast each round disappeared, betting on a sequel feels pretty safe.
