What is Umamicart?

Launched last Monday, Umamicart is an online direct-to-consumer Asian grocery that offers next-day delivery in select states.

Conceived by co-founder and CEO Andrea Xu, Umamicart serves as a one-stop-shop for home cooks, which offers a curated selection of high quality and fairly priced fresh produce, meats, and Asian groceries. It currently sells over 500 items across a variety of categories, including vegetables, fruits, meat and tofu, sushi-grade fish and seafood, noodles, rice and grains, snacks and drinks, and pantry goods.

Umamicart also features occasion-specific recipe kits for cooking activities such as DIY hotpot, dumpling making, and mapo tofu. The online grocery also boasts an assortment of new and personal products manufactured by Asian American founders, including Mother in Law’s MUU daikon radish kimchi, Fly by Jing chili crisps, Tochi salted egg potato chips, and many others.

Customers can rest assured they are receiving authentic Asian goods, as Umamicart prioritizes Asian American-led businesses, immigrant-led businesses, and producers of favorite heritage brands.

Where does Umamicart deliver?

Umamicart currently offers next-day delivery to zip codes in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware, with plans to expand its delivery range to Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and beyond, this spring. Orders $49 and up are free of shipping charge.

As part of its commitment to celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of Asian and Asian American cuisines and flavors, Umamicart is looking to add more East Asian, South East Asian, and South Asian products to its offerings soon.
