The affordable TCL TAB tablet is coming to the U.S. through Verizon.
The TCL TAB offers an 8-inch Full HD+ display and it weighs just 11.5 ounces. TCL also equipped the tablet with features to protect eye health such as Eye Comfort Mode, Reading Mode, and Dark Mode.
The device measures about 8-inches long, 5-inches wide, and just 0.34-inches thick. Its power button is integrated with a fingerprint sensor that can record up to 5 fingerprints. Additionally, each fingerprint can be programmed to perform a different function while on the lock screen. For example, the index finger can be programmed to unlock the device while another fingerprint can launch the camera.
Internally, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC matched with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This can be expanded up to 256GB via a micro SD card. Connectivity features offered include LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, with support for a mobile hotspot.
The TCL TAB houses a single 8-megapixel rear camera on its rear couple with an LED flash and various camera features such as auto-focus and video capture up to 30FPS at 1080p. The rear camera also offers additional features such as real-time filters, Stop Motion, Pro mode, and more.
Around the front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with LCD flash, capable of up to 1080p video capture at 30FPS.
Finally, it has a 5,500mAh battery capacity that is supposed to last up to 17 hours with mixed usage. When on standby, it can last up to 25 days when on 4G or 3G connectivity.
The device also supports fast charging technology and can charge to full in just 2.7 hours. Additionally, it’s equipped with OTG reverse charging so users can power other devices like phones or smartwatches using the tablet.
The TCL TAB comes in Suede Black and is now available exclusively at Verizon for $199.99.
