TCL is releasing their first 5G smartphone and first curved display smartphone. There will be three devices in the company’s new line. All of the TCL Series 10 smartphones come equipped with an AI quad-camera and utilize the company’s own NXTVISION visual display tech. To that effect, with TCL’s display technology, the Series 10 smartphones are able portray images that convert to HDR in real-time.
The first of the three phones in the series is the TCL 10 5G. As mentioned earlier, this is the company’s first 5G-enabled smartphone and it’s powered by a Snapdragon 7-series 5G SoC. It carries 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that is capable of memory expansion via microSD card. It also houses a 6.53-inch FHD+ Dotch display, which is pretty similar to a punch-hole display and it boasts of a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Flipping to the back reveals its quad-camera setup which consists of a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, 5MP macro camera, and a sensor camera. On its front is a 16MP camera that uses 4-in-1 big pixel technology. This feature allows the front camera to produce brighter selfies as well as improved low-light technology. It also supports slow-motion videos of up to 480FPS.
Additional features include a 4,500mAh battery equipped with Quick Charge 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, and OTG reverse charging.
The TCL 10 Pro is TCL’s first phone with a 6.47-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display. Its curved design falls off the edges of the device with minimal bezels for a high screen-to-body ratio. The curved display also utilizes Edge Bar shortcuts for easy one-handed use and houses a fingerprint sensor under the display. The TCL 10 Pro, with its NXTVISION technology, is also one of the select phones capable of displaying Netflix’s HDR content. The TCL 10 Pro’s camera also features a hybrid autofocus system, super low light video, super wide-angle video, and slow-motion video up to 960 FPS. Internally, it’s powered by Snapdragon 675 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Last in the company’s new lineup is the TCL 10L which boasts of solid features and design with a more modest price tag. It also boasts of a 6.53-inch FHD+ Dotch display with a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and it’s powered by a Snapdragon 655 processor with 6GB of RAM. Despite being the most affordable device in the lineup, it still carries the same quad-camera system but with slightly less megapixels. It replaces the 64MP main camera found in the 5G and Pro variant with a 48MP main camera. Alongside it are an 8MP super wide, 2MP macro, and a depth sensor. It also has a 16MP front-facing camera.
The TCL 10 5G will come in either Chrome Blue or Mercury Gray and have a 3D back glass with fingerprint-resistant coating. It will be available in select regions later this year for €399/£399.
The TCL 10 Pro will utilized dual-sided 3D glass in a gradient Forest Mist Green or Ember Gray. It will be available in Europe, North America, Australia, and the UK starting Q2 of 2020 and will be priced at €449 EUR/$449 USD/£399 GBP/$899 AUD.
Lastly, the TCL 10L will have have a holographic finish that boasts of an iridescent shine and 3D backing. It will come in either Arctic White or Mariana Blue and will also be available starting Q2 of 2020 for Europe, North America, Australia, and the UK. It will retail at €249 EUR/$249 USD/£199 GBP/$499 AUD.
